A) SGA should have talked to us
B) Ghosts can talk and have a personality. I'm interested in knowing why he didn't think that was enough- unless it's an oversight on bungies end. Unless he realized ghosts are fragile things and easily taken/ killed

SGA can talk, we know that for a fact, they just couldn’t have it talk in D1 because Bungie couldn’t put in any dialogue like that (especially not something so painfully specific as one weapon) We know from many D2 weapon and armor pieces that SGA is not the only piece of gear carrying an onboard AI to help the gun function, although SGA seems to be a bit for advanced than the others as it’s intended to be a companion Of course his Ghost could talk, but the more people to remember u, the better

He lost his ghost in the vault of glass

I don’t remember Bungie confirming that his Ghost died in there

Ghosts can be annoying to

Like Guardians, if a Ghost loses their Light, they will die and forget. Pahanin wanted something that would remember regardless of what happened to him or his Ghost.

Or, go to Borderlands: The Pre Sequel and get Boganella to see just how much fun talking weapons can be.
