It is a 12 am EST for everyone in USA. 12 midnight rolling start is for all countries except USA, not sure about Canada though. So when 12am EST hits people on west coast will be playing at same time which will 9pm PST for them. Article is posted at VG24/7.com for reference.

So does that mean I have to wait until 1 am on the 6th, since my state is in EDT instead of EST, I've been confused about it

You will be available to play at 12 am Tuesday morning if your on the east coast. I will be able to play at 11 pm Monday since I am in Oklahoma City Oklahoma, (CDT, CST). In Denver Colorado they will play at 10 pm Monday, (MDT, MST). Lastly, in the west coast Los Angeles California they will play at 9 pm on Monday, (PDT,PST). So in a nutshell, we all start playing at the same time in the USA. Hope that clarifies things.

I completely forgot I asked this, but I went back and read the TWAB carefully and it just says Eastern Time, so EST/EDT is already covered but it seems that Arizona and the West Coast will have the game earliest on the 5th if Alaska and Hawaii is unlocked with the servers.
