Still not in favor of removing sunsinger. (In Name!)

After thinking about it, the sword thing makes no sense. They should have just kept the name and made the sunlock snap their fingers for each solar burst. The super itself (A roaming super that lets me cast arcs of solar energy) Is something i really wanted for SS in Y1. Not being able to reduce my team's cooldowns is a shame. I always wanted to spec sunsinger to be support.

  • The Sunsinger --> Dawnblade change feels like a huge nerf for the class. I could easily swing Raze-Lighter around with Radiance, kill more things, and generate more orbs at the same time, all while sporting a team or a self-buff. It seems to me that the only problem that the subclass ever had was the community's lack of creativity. The side of the Sunsinger subclass that everyone complains about is the side that involves abusing Fireborn and taking advantage of the grenade buffs in PvP, and only the latter is a single part of its good side. I really don't know whether to be angrier at Bungie for completely rewriting a subclass that really could have just been a bit more streamlined, or at the community for providing the misguided usage statistics and being completely uninspired when it came to using its abilities.

  • Sunsinger was never a support class. It was based on the neutral game. It has support features but it also offers more. It was always about adaptability in my humble opinion. You can do this through supporting your team or being a powerhouse. Both have positives and negatives. Use it for what it is and you will enjoy it. Of all the D1 subs solar is most consistent in a clutch with neutral build options imo.

      Coming from a constant sunsinger player, If you really think about it sunsinger was pretty lame other than self res Like throwing grenades quickly? Compare that to a bubble that has tons of health and buffs, and a super that moves quickly and kills in one shot in crucible If you ask me removing self res for the ability to fly and wield a sword that casts fire is a deal to me

      • You get a healing rift, a dmg boost rift, and the ability to rain down death while floating around like a butterfly. You have way more support than before, and now it's across all classes so you don't have to feel locked to playing one subclass for raiding.

        • Personally, I love the sword even more. Sunsingers felt unneeded most of the time, and are considered weak in some game modes. But this? YOU TURN INTO MUTHA -blam!-ING TRYAL OR WHAT -blam!- HIS NAME IS FROM DIABLO AND RAIN DOWN MUTHA -blam!-ING FIRE FROM THE HEAVENS LIKE A ANGEL AND A DEMON THAT HAD SEX, AND THEIR CHILD WAS CONSIDERED A GOD!!!           • When does a sunsinger ever use something else besides radiance though? The answer is never. I have told my warlock friends they should switch to song of the flame and they always tell me no because they need radiance

            • I remember being hella excited when I saw Dawnblade in action, but then I realized, oh- they took out Sunsinger. RIP Sunsinger. You were too good for this game('s designers). I am kind of dreading seeing the revamped Voidwalker. Maybe it will be just as good, if not better, than the current one? Maybe? Hopefully. (Oh god)

              • The ability to revive yourself with extra shields is broken. Now before all the fanboys go mad let me explain. My opinion is based off of playing two games that I love. Destiny and Overwatch, both are awesome games but they are both spoiled by the ability to either revive yourself or your teammates. It doesn't matter if your playing a deathmatch style game type or an objective game type. Killing the enemy team is hugely important whether it be for kill points or to keep them away from objectives. Therefore the ability to circumvent the revive function entirely is quite broken. The reason I say it's broken is because you may spend everything you have e.g. ammo, supers, abilities etc to take control only to loose it because a warlock self revives and proceeds to revive all his teammates and at the same time reigning hellfire down upon you to which you have no defence. It's worse in Overwatch where you spend 4 mins trying to break the enemy defence you finally push them off the point and take control after using all your abilities only for a mercy to fly in a revive the entire team. Whilst these abilities are great for the people using them for the people they are being used against they are game breaking because they essentially punish you for being good in the first place. Again, just my Opinion I'm expecting some fusion grenades to the face for this one!

                  • Dawnblade just sounds cooler. Sunsinger is someone who praises the sun and brings its warmth and light to the world around them. Dawnblades are harbingers of Sol's wrath, descending from the sky to smite the darkness in universal fire.

                    • I believe the completely overhauled the subclasses because A: They completely broke PvE content and/or made at an absolute necessity, B: It broke PvP and was next to impossible for Bungie to balance, or simply underperformed compared to other Supers, or C: Both.

                      • Sunsinger was easily one of the biggest headaches for Bungie to balance. They just couldn't get it right. It was either a rage-causing class that terrorized PvP with Viking Funeral, or it was nerfed into the floor. It was never in a state that pleased everyone. I can't really blame them for leaving it behind.

                                No touch of flame + viking funeral combo for the dmg buff on enemies, but they keep the sub-par nades? Solar Nades dont last long and you need sunbreakers to circumvent this. Firebolt nades are terrible since the nerf and those nerfs have probably carried over. Only fusions are still ok but they are have more use in PVP than PVE. Also, they will probably get nerfed since everyone has been crying about them since the special ammo changes.

                                    • Well now that selfrez and fusions arent going to be a thing for ToO players maybe bungie will buff the subclass. Its the only strategy used competitively and i don't like either perk. I know im being a little selfish but i still run firebolt/flameshield/angel of light and i feel pathetic against stonger subclasses. Cant even use my super with this build because it takes 3 grenade hits to kill... i know i can use my gun and have a ohk charged melee during radiance but its easier to just use my primary. With how slowly firebolt travels and arms ttk is much faster if i just use my primary so why bother.
