You have to completely change you style of play to be successful with them though. You almost have to use them like a sniper rifle because if you get within medium range of most of the guns being used now you are done..This is why I think medium rate of fire scouts are a little better for PvP because that higher rate of fire gives you more of a chance in cq.

I still prefer the high impact Scouts honestly. Obviously there are better choices but they're more fun (to me) to use

You're right- since about June/July, when I went with HoJ and Invective, I've had a hole in my mid-range game. So certain maps felt uncomfortable, like Twilight Gap. Compared with before when I'd been running Doctrine. I got used to engaging snipers, and if things got close, using Invective. But mid-range was my weakness. The sidearm meta has actually helped that, because my close range has expanded a bit into mid-range (replaced Invective with Wormwood).

High impact has a faster time to kill then medium impact. When people push up you have your sidearm to defend.

Edited by chancelorsmOke: 3/20/2017 3:18:41 PMI understand that but when somebody closes just inside that medium range point with a hand cannon or good auto rifle you are at a huge disadvantage.because of that slow fire rate.

Every weapon has a range where they are at a disadvantage. If someone pushes into that range you need to disengage. Not the most exciting thing to do. I think that's why people avoid the slow scouts.

Yes, but it's hard to get stuck with a grenade at a distance.
