I dont see why not as people already do it all the time through third party sites that carry that information. If you are trying to get direct approval by Bungie, they may or may not respond at all so please keep that in mind.

Good point. I guess to clarify, is there documentation or similar where I can learn how to go about accomplishing that?

I believe that you can get only the last 6 games unless you have recorded the instance ID's from the past... unless they changed that... or maybe I just made that up. I remember I was trying to do this and I was told that I would have to record the instance ID's in order to get games in large time frames. I am now doubting that fact due to websites such as destiny tracker that have larger time frames.

I think you're correct. IIRC, Destiny Tracker populates their own database with user information, and they refresh your individual data by crawling through your games. @xorth might be able to be better help. He is the Destiny Tracker creator.

Do you think it's better to contact @xorth here through Bungie, or would the contact form at Destiny Tracker be sufficient?
-
I honestly have no idea, I only know his name. Lol

Give this site a try.

@Fenix @Spartain @Veldrovive Thank you! I'll contact Destiny Tracker and see if I can use their database :) if not I can try @Tetron's method, though I might have to shorten the time frame since I can only make so many requests and only have so much time before the project is due :)

Did contacting Destiny Tracker yield any fruitful results? The wording around their site seems to imply some kinda LRU cache to what data they keep. I have a similar desire as yours. I want activityInstanceIds for a particular mode (PVP modes), that is not tied to character instances so I can sample the population as a whole. By a large margin, the 6.4 billion activity instances are not Crucible related and Bungie's throttling mechanism makes all those misses time consuming.

I did get a message from @xorth but missed it by a few days, but we were never able to sync up :( you might be able to get in touch with him, either through Destiny Tracker or here on Bungie. Sorry for getting back to you so late!
