Edited by NastyNati0527: 2/1/2017 3:00:39 AMDogfighting, then raiding a enemy ship and fighting your way to a boss would be epic. Add a 3 player Firefight mode and a 6 player Warzone Firefight mode with 10 rounds, mini bosses, large waves, put it on large maps like Combimed Arms playlist. Needs a open world/bigger campaign maps too for sure. (Far cry, Skyrim). Edit: And new enemy models/types.

I'd even go so far as to have sections in a raid where a team works with both. Maybe have two members in their ships for space/air combat while the other 4 are on foot or covering ground on their sparrows. This can lead to a lot of potential game mechanics that have teams coordinate their actions. Even if it's something as simple as the ground team fighting through closed off sections of the ship to deactivate enemy systems or make key targets vulnerable for the fighters to bombard them, but then needing the fighters' protection as they cover large gaps of open ground to reach their next objective; or having to shut down anti air weapons so that the pilots can land and rejoin the ground team after they've taken out key targets or "distracted" the enemy forces so that the ground team remains unnoticed. Just an example. Could be fun if it isn't too drawn out or repetitive.

Edited by Brandon: 1/31/2017 6:46:16 PMHow would capital ship fights fit in You do realise the vanguard isn't some space-faring empire. They're literally humanity at the beginning of Mass Effect 3,odds against them and overwhelmed. How would ship fights work? Have you seen guardian ships, say against Hive ones? Remember the intro of TTK? Where the Queen's Brother, the best pilot in the reef got his ass handed to him? How would our guardians fare better..?

Edited by Onyx Guard: 1/31/2017 8:50:57 PMWe don't have to have a massive force to get onto a capital ship. Small ships have the advantage of being harder to detect and limit the number of effective enemy countermeasures once detected. Fighters and ship-board AA would be the only counters that could be made on short notice. Combine that with story missions that could let us gain access to shutting down their shields or vital systems, lying in wait for a ship to venture off to be resupplied or drop it's shields to launch ship to ship ordinance in a battle with another enemy faction, or using a heavily armored landing craft to brute force your way onto their ship, and you could have the most enjoyable raid you've played. Additional: Ship fights could work out very well if done correctly. Void destroyer is a decent example if you want to go all out: Newtonian physics with inertia playing a huge part of changing speed and direction and omni-directional thrusters that allow for full 3-D movement in combat. That's kind of what that intro cutsceen implied, isn't it? And a good number of the guardians' ships seem like they'd be more maneuverable (remember, surface area and thruster placement are key for space maneuvers) and packing a lot more firepower than the fighters of the reef. And the hive fighters reacted more like drones than piloted craft, which would indeed be harder to fight. If you've ever played ace combat 5 or 6, you'll remember that drones are a big middle finger to missle locks. As for the queen's brother, I never heard he was a pilot and wouldn't have known if it didn't show him in the cutsceen. Doesn't reflect highly on his reputation if no one mentions anything about it. We also see other pilots in the sceen doing just as well as him. And he wasn't shot down in combat by the enemy drones, he and a few other pilots were trying to get out of range of the hive ship's magic blaster, so it doesn't say anything about the ability to take on enemy fighters.

Capital ship boarding raids sounds sick. Good idea!
-
cabal hermit crab machines
Never heard that one before.
-
Is that supposed to be an interceptor?
-
The way it reloads after firing reminds me of a crab eating.

Such a good idea with the ship boarding raids. We need ship flying.
