New Guardians Inbound!
Hey everyone!
Today is the day, just like every year before, that a lot of "Little Lights" will be joining our ranks, both on B.net and out on the Frontier. Do what you can to welcome them. Teach them the right ways to fire a Golden Gun or unleash a Nova Bomb. There will be a bunch of them out there, so give them a hand!
It wasn't all that long ago that you or I were new to Destiny. If you started in the Alpha/Beta, in Year One, Year Two, or Year Three, it doesn't make a difference. You're a Guardian. You're one of us. Help those who are just discovering their Light so that they, too, can fight against the Darkness.

BUT if you already bought it, well ..... enjoy the gunplay, don't obsess over specific drops (RANDOM), lower your expectations and be patient with the matchmaking.

Tip from a year one Christmas noob, take the game slow, and don't rush through it all. Tip two, if you're ever going to play iron banner, play with friends, with music, or both. It's infuriating to solo queue in ib. I'll be logging off of Destiny for a while, I'll be playing Titanfall 2 and Division survival, best of luck to you year 3 Christmas noobs!

My advice would be to try to get in with a good group on the100.io ASAP. The 100 changed my life in Destiny, and within a short time I found a regular group that is still running raids together to this day. LFG sites can be hit and miss, but the quality of players on the 100 is more consistent, mainly because the groups are scheduled and your reputation with other players actually follows you around.
