I don't think you understand what ddosing is. Why would think it would take PSN down? Dosing and ddosing can both be used to target a single system, and given the P2P nature of destiny, you can easily target an opponent specifically.

Ddos.. Its distrubuted through a network... Dos on the otherhand can come from a bnet site or a person to person as long as the other person has acess to the targets ip. I know exactly what they are as my sons career at cisco is preventing this stuff. Banks, major businesses and goverments are targets of a distributed attack.

Edited by SithLord Osirus: 12/5/2016 7:33:58 PMNo, you're describing one particular type of ddos attack. Ddos attacks originate from multiple machines, usually ones hijacked through the use of a Trojan. They don't have to be propagated through any network, nor does it have to attack a network for it to fit the definition. How do you think that big, organized, hackers learn their shit? They start small, with stuff like this.

Ignore them. People say there is no problem just because they don't what it to change. They act like it takes masters degree in networking to pull this shit off. They are sadly wrong. Simple IP scanner in a PC watching the network get the IP. Input IP into a web sight to have it flooded. Player get kicked. The exclusivity and "your only good if you been to the lighthouse" has lead to rampant cheating and gaming of the system. Invalidating all the rewards from the mode and bungie and the devs just stick there fingers in there ears and go "la la la" so they don't have to admit they made a mistake with the mode.
