What if Oryx isn't dead If you look he does crystallize I think he went into a staysis before we killed him of course being in a staysis he is incapacitated and floated away so all we no he could be on Saturn regenerateing and rebuilding
Book of sorrows 5 verse 9 I have made preparations. If I am defeated I know it will be because my understanding of the universe was incomplete. I failed to anticipate some strategy, some nemesis. (Perhaps Taox, if she still lives.) If I am defeated, I know that I will fall to something mighty. Something that craves might, something that loves what I love, which is the Deep, a principle and a power, the versatile, protean need to adapt and endure, to reach out and shape the universe entirely for that purpose, to mutate and redesign and test and iterate so that it can prevail, can seize existence and hold it, certain that this is everything, that there is nothing to life except living. And it has two faces, yet it is one shape. One face is the objective, which is obvious, and the other face is that will to sacrifice things and ideas for a single mission, the mission of becoming the shape, a shape that will not relent, the utter commitment to survival, to draw the right sword and choose where to cut: to allow this hunger to become your weapon. So I will prepare a book, which is a map to a weapon. And my vanquisher will read that book, seeking the weapon, and they will come to understand me, where I have been and where I was going. And then they will take up my weapon, and they will use it, they will use that weapon, which is all that I am. And armed thus with my past, and my future, and my present (which is a weapon, a weapon that takes whatever is available, a weapon bound to malice), they will mantle me, Oryx, the Taken King. They will become me and I will become them, each of us defeating the other, correcting the other, alloying ourselves into one omnipotent philosophy. Thus I will live forever. I’ll make sure. So he believes that he will live on through the weapon because of his living, ravenous heart (the worm). Which is his source of power. So in essence, him. If the worm isn't fed life from others, it consumes life from the user. When we shot the worm, we interrupted the feeding ritual...or feeding on us, thus it went for the next best thing...Oryx. As we shoot the Touch of Malice, you use 11 rounds. 10 rounds for Oryx's life expectancy. The 11th bullet is to show that as long as he fed the worm his life and power, was indefinite. So the same rules now apply to you and the Touch of Malice (Oryxs history) The worm takes life force in exchange for extra power (the last bullet does extra damage) It gives an infinite amount of life and power to us as it did for Oryx, as long as we "sacrifice" lives. So we "become" Oryx by using the gun. "LONG LIVE THE KING"......IN A GUN

Edited by SamuraiSloth_: 11/10/2016 7:23:01 PMI don't think he is. In the later books of sorrow he begins to reflect on how dependent he is on his tributes. How the nature of his arrangement with the worm will lead to his end without Crota and his court. It must have also occurred to him that he will not be the " final shape" as when all enemies have been destroyed his worm will consume him. The card just before this deals with his daughters creating the oversoul (Tautalogical Autonomous Thantosphere). They mention how it's another safe gaurd from death (on top of the throne world). They specifically say they can hide their deaths. Now fast forward to the Traveler being discovered on Earth in crippled state. Crota claims the moon, a perfect staging post for attacking the traveller. What is his next step? Summon Crota back to "plan" ? Why?It is ripe for the plucking. No I believe Oryx at this point staged the whole thing. Crota being defeated in his throne world for one. Normally this should mean a final death; what hasn't been made clear is if the oversoul can bring them back even from this death. If so it's possible for Crota to return. Now on to Oryx, if his Oversoul also could also bring him back , maybe this whole thing was about vanquishing the worm inside him. It is that which we focus our attacks on in the King's Fall raid. I think it's possible that everyone of Oryx's family we've encountered is in on this and will be back. In short it's all been a master plan to rid them of the worms. Maybe that's why there's no mention of Nokris anywhere. Maybe he rebelled against this plan.

Xur will come with the IX and bring war to all. He will be the Raid boss in Destiny 2. He will have access to every exotic weapon in his arsenal. Xur will bow to nobody.
-
Don't worry about Oryx. Worry about Savathūn.
-
The echos of oryx are just that echos Echos of something long gone he was dead once he found the taken power At the end of the taken king campaign he kneels down and he uses the power of the taken on himself but the taken requires something to lead it something was controlling oryx and when oryx died we thought it was malok but it couldn't have because he is taken You might say how does he control millions of taken the answer is the echos of oryx in the cutscene after the first mission on Phobos you see a echo of oryx leading a group of taken and that's why there's an echo of oryx on every planet except the dreadnought where oryx is

No dude, he's actually dead. The way you kill Hive gods is by going to the ascendent realm and killing him. Sorry to say, he's dead.
-
Oryx is actually Donald Trump. Look at the eyes and haircut. !

24 RepliesNokris or whatever his name was will be leading the Hive in Destiny 2, maybe with Savathun pulling the strings in the background.

3 RepliesYou do not understand how the hive came back. We killed his earthly body then killed him in his Over world, the only way he could return is to conjure him back by understanding
