I'm just going to paste what I already said to someone else:
A variety of things. Firstly I've been discontent/empty for the past couple of years. It popped up in my head many times at church "why do I still feel so empty? I've prayed and I know much about Jesus...etc". Secondly, the month of Ramadan was coming up. I had Muslim friends I talked to. And I was close to one of them. Through their influence I realized Islam wasn't as bad as I thought. Then I considered "what makes someone want to fast for a month, pray 5 times a day, cover themselves up, etc, except that they really do believe in God and want to do whatever it takes to worship Him?" So then I studied it for a few months and came to the conclusion that this was really what I believed. The Trinity made no sense to me, and seeing as it was the core belief to Christianity, I figured it should make sense. Plus Christianity was so divided that I realized how could anyone who is a Christian possible hope they follow the right branch(out of a few sects within the religion itself) at all? In short I just had this drawing in my heart that it was right. I gave it time to see if I was just excited for something new. But still that drawing was there months later. So here I am.
I'd add onto that that the drawing was one of wanting to please God and worship him as best possible. As purely and correctly possibly. And to worship Him alone.
