Is 3 of coins broken?
I've popped 1 separately after each strike and that's about 15 coins wasted and never once got an exotic drop...

The rates vary wildly, I've gotten 3 back to back to back, but also have gone 50+ with no drop. All up to RNG still.

5 RepliesOn average it's 12 coins to an engram. They can drop one after the other and then take 20 to drop again. But on average, it's roughly 12. This info comes from a lunatic that posted a list of his usage of about a thousand 3oC which I compiled and ran the numbers on. No matter how soon you pop them after a drop, it's 1/12.

We can also farm skeleton keys from strikes, combined with Vanguard boosters playing strikes and reputation rep done in 5-6 strikes. These are some ways that I lvl up real fast. The exotic engrams really are only bonus.

I don't think that 3oC is broken, maybe just a little adjustment from Bungie devs so we dont get to farm exotic engrams to lvl up faster.

Yup. You'll have better chance getting exotic ish stuff through crucible matches then you do dropping em in strikes. True story bro.

The more you use after about 10 the chances get better. Look up Reddit post about drop rate for all the numbers.

Drop rate has been crap since that first nerf. Just got worse since.

Pop one every 2 strike. Use one- don't use one- use one- don't use one. I get one or two every 5 strikes. Outside of that you just have super bad luck, or your luck is found in other places like legendaries, PvP, or packages.

No. Do not farm strikes or POE. Both are nerf'd. I know how and it works perfectly. PM me If you want to know. Do not post on the forums.

IMO i think it should work this way: 3oc is sold in a bundle of 5, so you should be guranteed an exotic once within the usage of every five 3oc that is used (when used appropriately) and a small "unstackable" rng chance on the other four 3oc in that bundle. if you spam 3oc you have a constant 1% rng drop chance that does not stack (rapid ultra farm at draksis and black garden as examples) have 100 3oc? use it correctly and you have 20 exotics guaranteed, and 80 rng chances at more. eat one for every strike or crucible match. at least the results would be consistent and have rng for bonus drops for infusion fuel. tl;dr 1 of the 5 3oc is 100% ONCE, and a small unstackable rng chance on the other 4 in each bundle sold.

I've had streaks of 20 coins (more than once) without getting anything. But then I've also gotten engrams on a back-to-back (within a time shorter than the cooldown is supposed to be).

No I haven't had any problems with them, I'd say I'm averaging about 1 engine erythromycin five uses, obviously I get hit streaks, like last night I got three in a row, but then I'll go cold won't get one for a while. Sounds like you're experiencing one of those Destiny RNG droughts. Which BTW I've never been able to figure out. This is the only loot based RNG game I've ever played where the RNG varies so drastically from person to person. We should be averaging about the same, but that's clearly not the case, and I don't -blam!-ing get it.
