Could be possible, but they look a little bit ornate to have been used for anything other than a display item - at least until our Guardians got a hold of them.
I mean, Monte Carlo was originally a showpiece item..what's to say that armour isn't the same?

Keep in mind that the Peregrine Greaves creates blades over the knees when running, so I doubt they were a show piece. I don't know, it just strikes me as something Jolder would make.
