Actually, the first Risen to be called Guardians were the Iron Lords, I think this was after Azzirs time

No, the lore mentions many times that the Iron Lords were never called Guardians. Listen to Saladin in the first cutscene.

Well they were the ones to bring it on, it was either during or after the Iron Lords reign that Risen were started to be called Guardians because now, instead of just some using their powers for good, pretty much all do

While they weren't called guardians, they were still guardians all the same. For example, a king and a president, at the core of their definitions are the same..... they rule over a country. I assume that the reason for the change were in remembrance of the 9 iron lords that were (temporarily) able to stop SIVA.
