While interesting, this information doesn't really mean anything and definitely isn't inherently a negative like I'm sure people are going to immediately perceive it as. Reading level isn't necessarily a very significant factor in music, and like the guy conducting the study said, [quote]it’s important to note that this data doesn’t touch on the meaning of a song, the metaphors, how the words connect with the artist’s personal story, etc. to create deeper meaning[/quote]

  • If we were going off these metrics, Nickelback would indisputably be the best popular rock band. I have a feeling some might disagree with that though.
