Well stated. I think your no sneaky shit version is the accurate one. Only minor quibble is the statement about oryx sending crota back to his throne world after mare imbrium.
It was Eris and company that did. They didn't engage crota in his throne world. They fought him in the temple of crota, and the hive took his soul back to his throne realm

nope. they went in after he was already called back.

Where does it say that? The in game dialogue in the wakening mission, Eris describes their descent into the temple of crota. She even talks about how the hive took Crotas soul (same place we destroy Crotas soul they are trying to bring back) before the could defeat him. That wouldn't happen in his throne world. Vell, Omar, eriana, and sai all died on the way down in the temple of crota. And again in lost to light, Eris talks about they were trapped in the temple of crota. That's where she was trapped, not his throne world

The entrance to his throne world isn't in the temple of crota. And even if it were, where they engaged crota couldn't be in his throne world if the hive took his soul.
