Screw the guardian council.....it will just be a bunch of tryhards dictating how they think the game should be.
Majority of the time my voice is covered up by nerf cries and other bullshit. This council is a farse it doesnt not represent the common players.

Jumping the gun before it even is a thing. Nice.

...Huh? So...you complain that your voice is always being buried under countless posts for nerf this and nerf that and so on and so forth. Then something comes along that is actively seeking to fix all that and make things more organized so that everyone's voice can be heard, and your immediate response is to reject it? What you say makes no sense. Is the illusion that Bungie might actually care about your feedback more important to you than actually trying to do something to change the current status quo?

I got reddit for that this forum is a joke.
-
Honestly, I think what sounds more hilarious is how Reddit is given so much more priority and declares itself more important by comparison to the forum made and maintained by the actual developer itself. That never really made much sense to me. In fact, I don't even remember when Reddit became a thing. Seems like it just sorta popped up one day on the internet and then "boom" suddenly its trying to be the new 4chan or something only with way more rules and self-important people trying to dictate what can and can't be discussed. Kinda like the Walmart of the interwebz. No offense, I just personally don't care much for it. I can only assume the PCMR had a hand in contributing to Reddit's current social standing. I was alright with Gaia, though I think the world could have done without Reddit trying to monopolize things. (I guess Ad Revenue just wasn't enough for them)

Edited by BRAZACK: 7/1/2016 6:53:56 AMIts bungievision themselves that prefer reddit over their own forums. Idk how thats even possible but its what they prefer. This guardian council isnt going to be any different though. Only a select few will get a say on anything. The streamers are the ones that have the most influence.
-
And those select few are to bring customers concerns and issues up to the bungie devs...how is that bad? Considering how the council would be rotated, so others would have equal chance to be on the council.
-
Actually, when you consider the proposed idea itself as I've presented it, the idea is that every piece of feedback submitted is documented and given equal attention. That's why there is a formatting for said posts. The intention is to make the system more organized and to allow for real debates among the Community. What the Council does is simply observe said debates and then once a conclusion has been reached by all those involved, the post is then essentially pushed through to Bungie for them to give their feedback while the Council pushes to make it happen. The Council then gives said feedback from Bungie back to the Community for further discussion. This process can then be repeated until a consensus is reached. In my opinion, Reddit does nothing but maintain the current status quo. To my understanding, once a discussion is supposedly "done" over there, it can never be re-opened. There are consistent, never ending reports of accounts being banned for a myriad of ridiculous reasons, most of which indicate a very real problem with Reddit itself. Unlike what we are trying to accomplish here, there are no real safeguards over there that serve to protect a poster's individual rights or freedoms. What I'm saying is that Reddit is more akin to a dictatorship, a place which actually encourages the use of peer pressure to strong arm others into submission. A place where you are free to voice your own opinions, unless it doesn't coincide with the "popular" opinion, to which you run the risk of downvotes actually posing consequences. Its true I'm not actually on Reddit, so please correct me if I'm wrong about any of this. Bungie and Activision aren't the only ones who prefer to spend their time there. Most major corporations do as well. And for a very good reason as well. In all seriousness, Reddit is a sellout, far worse than anything 4chan could have ever been wrapped up in. The site itself has ties to all the major companies and media outlets, as well as the Democratic and Republican parties. Reddit itself is a business and their staff is always on someone's payroll. Even Donald Trump owns a piece of it. The significance of Reddit is that all of these major political factions and corporate powers have basically come together to make it a central figure on the internet. WHICH -blam!-ING BLOWS... Before Reddit, you had a swath of different forums all over the place. This was a good thing, though, because it meant that no ONE forum stood above the rest. It also meant that games had "Official Forums" hosted by the developers/publishers themselves, such as Bungie.net for Destiny. If you wanted to be involved in things for said game, that was where you went. But Reddit has been destroying this system, disrupting the balance. You are right, this forum is a joke. Its outright stupid that anyone should have to actually consider something like the Guardian Council. That, in and of itself, is evidence of just how bad the situation really is. The monopoly bullshit has to end. Reddit can continue to exist just fine, but that forum needs to learn to back the -blam!- off and stop trying to be the center of attention for the entire god damn internet. (I keep expecting them to try copying shit from Gaia next) Any and all IMPORTANT shit concerning the Community with the game should be happening here on Bungie.net, the forum which exists EXCLUSIVELY for the game itself and nothing else.
-
I dont use reddit for destiny post either but i go there to read posts. I dont post anything there most of my posts are here. Its bungie who needs to start paying attention to their own forums. The guardian council seems like a nice idea but will they implement it? Idk seems like they just prefer to use reddit. Its much less work for them that way they can get back to counting their money.

Well, bare in mind, Cozmo is the one who proposed that I re-post the whole Guardian Council idea that I had presented to the Community roughly nearly a year ago. He did that in response to that post I made about how Bungie NEEDS to be more inclusive of its players and have waaaaay better communication with us. Because as it stands now, Bungie is like living in their own little world, isolated from us. That being the case, I take it more as a challenge. If we are able to actually pull this off and get the Council up and running, then what? They won't possibly have any other excuses. If they don't open up at that point then it will result in a major PR disaster, especially when I decide to take the matter itself to oh...let's say Kotaku for instance? Or Polygon? Perhaps even Eurogamer? Or hell, why not all three? Not something a company would want to have happen before a major release. And I can only imagine the kind of backlash we would see from the Community at large as a result of such, further stoking that fire. But then, what happens if we AREN'T able to get the Council going? Then the whole thing will be pinned on us, the Community. We'll be the ones held at fault for failing to seize said opportunity to act when we could have. Why should THEY have to bother if we clearly aren't willing to put forth the effort on our end? And so, Bungie not only gets off scott free but likewise gets the perfect "get out of jail free" card. Me? I would rather see where this takes us. The potential is there for this to accomplish many great things, not just for this game but for others as well. I'm always in favor of anything which empowers Gamers.
