It's a bungie conspiracy. They knew we would be pissed about the new updates. Bungie also wanted to nerf hof pulses just like high rof autos. There just weren't enough people that had high rof pulses(grasp) to justify the nerf.
Update comes.
Bungie changes the original nightfall from saber to will of crota knowing everybody and their momma that plays crucible will farm for grasp. Everybody does. People are happy with this.
Grasp usage spikes. People start calling for nerfs. Bungie's trap works. Now they have the ammo to nerf hof pulses. Hof pulses get nerfed. This will happen. You watch.

Damn dude, I'm not one for conspiracy theories but it sounds spot on.
-
I now put on my tin foil hat. This actually makes sense, and i was thinking the same. Notice that the burn is solar so you can take down Omnigul with your favorite exotic heavy (Sleeper/Raze-Lighter/Dragon's Breath) and favorite solar supers.

Bingo bango

Also, Bungie wanted to soften the blow of the Gunslinger nerfs by drawing attention to the Golden Gun damage buff. What better way to do that then by giving them an important role to play in the Nightfall (and obvious inevitable mass Grasp farm).
-
Not to mention solar burn....
-
It was implied when I mentioned the role in the Nightfall!
-
Couldn't be more right.
-
The critical literacy is strong with this one.
-
Oh yeah we all see the nerf coming from a mile away, use those Grasps while they're hot!
-
That's kinda the point though right. To increase replayability and keep it fun. Variety will always lead to some weapon being better. Finding the best weapon requires playtime. Best weapon usage leads to a meta. Meta leads to nerf. Nerf leads to variety. Wash rinse repeat.
-
I think you just hit on conspiracy theory E
-
Its sad, but you're absolutely right. Bungie has become so f-ing predictable.
-
D.Va said it best *Nerf This*
-
As Metallica once sang... You know it's sad but true!
-
Solid theory... Sounds kinda true
-
Yea its always the same. As soon as something becomes the next big thing a nerf is already on its way, just a matter of time. So its best to just enjoy them while they last.
