Titan Main here. I wonder was the 0.3 sec nerf with the flame sheild really needed? I mean you did nerf 33% of that and nerfing It again seems cruel. I guess If you want ppl to use other things are good and all but i think 2 nerfs were not needed..
-
Nah -blam!- warlocks (I'm biased)
-
2 RepliesIn the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. They have to redesign the entire subclass anyway.
-
Warlocks have no idea what being "nerfed too hard" feels like. Lol
-
I'm going to say the nerfs were appropriate. However, I think Sunsingers should have been buffed in other categories. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/207034788/0/0

Edited by Sanguine_01: 6/21/2016 10:03:53 PMMost definitely overboard but anyone who couldnt adapt in the first place will disagree. Hilarious that now all they can say to object is adapt.
-
2 RepliesIt made them the support class that they were meant to be.
-
Does bungie realize that the reason why people use it is because the other options are either broke or not worth it at all?
-
2 RepliesNo. Not only did they have the farthest range but also an overshield given on a single slap. Not even a kill like defenders. Totally justified in the nerf

I am a warlock main, so right off the bat, my objectivity is in question. That said, as a longtime Sunsinger/solar grenades/Sunbreaker gauntlets user, it is no longer viable to play using my preferred gamestyle. I rarely used fire bolt grenades. Mostly solar (meaning the flares, not just solar damage type). I don't think Bungie intended to wreck solar grenades, but they did. I don't think I could get a grenade kill with one solar grenade even if someone was afk, even wearing Sunbreakers, unless I shot or melee'd him first to lower his health. I played about 10 games with no solar grenade kills, and I was trying. Keep in mind that the Sunsinger super mainly lets you throw grenades. With most subclasses, grenades and supers are separate. With sunsingers, they cannot be separated in terms of balance. If grenades can't kill, your super basically can't kill (I guess you get a general buff to melee and gun damage). Fusion grenades still work fine. I can wear Starfire and I get two fusion grenades. If I stick it to someone, it is a nearly guaranteed kill. Two weeks ago or at any time in the past, probably most players would say they were better than solar (flare) grenades anyway. Yet it was solar grenades that got destroyed, fusion grenades continue as before. So, do I change my gamestyle that has built muscle memory for over a year, which I enjoy? Stop using grenades to control territory, instead use quick-twitch reflexes to get them on someone's face? Hmm .. No. I will do Stormcaller or Voidwalker until this gets fixed. So long to my favorite, main subclass. And for what? Has anybody ever said or thought that solar (flare) grenades were OP!?

1 ReplyIn my opinion stormcaller should have been nerfed not the other two subclasses Also they should have never nerfed bladedancer

6 RepliesI main titan, I find it kind of unfair that I have to use an exotic slot to counter it when solely in a melee battle. I mean now I can win a melee battle with a warlock much more easily. The defender titan has that same perk to get an over shield, but that requires a kill and it charges; not instant like warlocks. So if I get the over shield and I get hit immediately, it cancels. Personally I think that would be great if Bungie made flameshield to activate after a kill and not in a melee 2 meters away that barely scratches you. I mean again, now it is easier to win a fight unlike the scenario playing out like this: >titan melees warlock >warlock is like melee back >warlock gains an instant shield >titan is like wtf, how'd you do that >warlock wins -It use to be me using peregrine grieves for 3x more damage (that's risky to airborne shoulder charge) or -using A/CD feedback fence for a 3 meter radius retaliation strike (any enemy caught in its blast will take a major percentage of melee damage dealt to me )
-
I will say I'd rather deal with firebolt nades then spamming fusion nades.
-
1 ReplyIf they didn't also nerf hunters, this poll would've looked different.
-
Nah because i just got my ass whooped a couple times by a sunsinger, when are ppl gonna come to the conclusion that its not the subclass, its the player that makes something good
-
I would have been fine with the nerfs if bungie had buffed other perks in the Sunsinger subclass. This is what always screws the game over. Nerfing some of the only powerful perks in a subclass on not buffing any other parts of it. Bungie needs to learn that Nerfing everything and buffing nothing is not the answer.
-
My issue isn't with the change to Firebolts or Flameshield. But what was done to Solar Grenades, which now do either 2 or 0 pts dmg. If i throw a solar grenade at you in the crucible you shouldn't be taking a tan and neither should the boss I have smothered in them either.
-
Sunsingers were not only nerfed too hard. It was done apperantly for no reason. No data or strong opinion was found. They just felt that this class caused frustrating situations. Now my Solar Grenade does 58 on impact. 60 after the 5% VF buff lol This game is no longer bungie priority. I wonder if they are already checking out for a new game or release? If you wanted to strip classes down to gunplay why not just make a MWF game to start with?
-
There is no balance in this game, PvP needs to go. The Devs have LITERALLY admitted to unbalance simply for the sake of research.. apparently. They let ridiculously powerful weapons and abilities run rampant for months and then break them down into scrap. On purpose.
-
Why did they take the burn effect away from us but leave it on Titans and Hunters? I ran this week's NF solo with my SS and it was far more difficult then it would have been without the nerf, atleast the Defender Titans Super last 45 seconds, the SS has been neutered, it would be as if the Nightstalker super could only Teather and never kill, no shade step, no smoke grenades. ...or if the defenders bubble and it's effects only lasted for 8 seconds .......would that make everyone happy? Well that's what it would take to have the 3 "support" classes ballanced.

1 ReplyEdited by Nightstalker: 6/16/2016 5:12:41 AM.3 seconds is SO much.

1 ReplyI think the rework on sunsinger to make it support was a great idea. They just fell wayyyyy short on the mark and now it's useless
-
8 RepliesBut now Sunsingers have a throwable "Melting Point"
-
4 RepliesYou actually have to put some aim into your grenades now. What's so bad about that?
-
Who cares really. This game has the most toxic community I've ever seen on any multiplayer game. If I were president of bungie I'd tell Deej and all those guys to have some backbone and not listen to all the crying. Keep it up guardians! You guys are doing great! Losing sleep over a game because a class/subclass you don't use is whooping your behind. Btw a lot of players that suck now are gonna suck regardless, so why complain? Only way you'll get good is if you keep playing and criticize yourself on what you did wrong, instead of crying. If you're the type of player that just sits back and plays for fun and doesn't complain, you my dear friend, deserve a medal.

The problem I find with the change is that the new debuff effect of Viking Funeral isn't useful in its current state. It needs to be at least 10% per stack, and last 5-7 seconds. A 5% defense debuff per stack that only lasts 2-3 seconds doesn't help anyone. It's useless. Good idea, but very poor execution on their part. And its interaction with Solar Grenade is rather odd. It only activates on the initial impact of the grenade when tossed, and doesn't apply at all after that, even if an enemy that wasn't hit by it previously walks through it. The continuous damage from the Grenade isn't affected at all by the defense debuff either. Only the initial impact is affected. Sometimes it doesn't apply the debuff effect or burn at all. Very inconsistent. They really need to fix that. On that note, the damage of Solar Grenades have been widely inconsistent, even by itself, since the update. It seems much weaker than it was initially. Sometimes it does little to no damage at all. Likely another bug from the update.

4 RepliesFlame Shield, no. Grenades are now skill based. Simple.
