MS really pushes the "Play your way" thing hard. We will have three consoles to choose from come Holiday to suit our needs most.
OG Bone for the Gamers who can't/won't upgrade.
Slime Bone is the one for the ones who want crazy high storage, and/or 4K tv support.
Scorpio Bone is the one for the VR junkies.
In the end I might save up for a decent PC for the VR, then use cross play so I can play the Bone games on Windows 10.

The $300 price for the Xbox One S means the original Xbox One is disappearing. Microsoft has mostly likely already stopped production of the original Xbox One. Any units remaining this fall will be sold at a deep discount. (1080p bargain hunters delight). And Scorpio comes out Holiday 2017. So for Holiday 2016, all Microsoft has is Xbox One S starting at $300, probably for the 500GB and then escalating in price for additional storage (Probably $350 for 1TB and $400 for 2TB. Microsoft hasn't confirmed anything except "starts at $299" and "up to 2TB"). The cross play with PC is what I think Microsoft will push this year. As you noted, you can already buy a VR capable PC.

That just gives people more time to debate on their console of choice and me more time time accrue enough funds for a PC.
