No console will play any game in 4k at an acceptable frame rate for at least 4 generations. Unless microsoft/sony is willing to sell at a loss at least.

  • How? The Scopio is coming next year and will be able to run 4k.

  • Being able to output 4k video and being able to play games in 4k is very different. I think the menu and apps will be able to run in 4k, and I think it'll be able to play movies at 4k, but it'll be a cold day in hell before it'll be able to run games at 4k above 20fps. In the chart above, you'll it takes a $400 USD card to just run the Witcher III at a 30fps average, which personally is still unacceptable. Two $550 USD cards only get s 49 fps average.

  • That is how the Xbone S will use their 4k output. The Scorpio will be able to play games in 4k.

  • People don't seem to understand that. What we are seeing here is both systems, Xbox and PS using 4k as a selling point, but remain cryptic on its uses. Almost kind of like, the 4k is for movies only...but lets not say anything so that the general community can think otherwise. Then smart joes like me and you come along and are simply ignored.
