Why do you assume I didn't?
You're talking about a sequel to HALO, HALO Reach. The original HALO compares about evenly to Destiny in terms of story. Both break down to "You wake up; you're given a mission, which is to go to a destination and kill things. Then another mission occurs, which involves going to a different destination and killing things. Sometimes you go back to somewhere you've already been, to kill things. Once in a while, you go through an area in reverse, to kill different things. The overall reason you're killing these things is because they want to KILL ALL HUMANS. We're not getting into the reason they want to kill all humans, but you don't want all humans to be killed, do you? So get out there and kill."
The entire universe and mythology behind the Covenant and the Flood were not fleshed out in HALO. All that came later. It was just a hell of a game, with hints of a bigger universe out there behind it.
There were fleshed-out NPCs in HALO, which I wish there were in Destiny; but I can understand why they don't have them here. It's a multiplayer. If it were a single player game, there would be NPCs.
So, in my evaluation- both great games. 8.5-9.0.
