As a PS4 player I'm curious as to why Xbox doesn't buy it's own exclusive strike and or gear

It was probably part of the contract for them not too.

Basically Xbox wouldn't allow the halo franchise go to ps so they left and created a new set of games the destiny series, and didn't want a 'strong' link with Xbox so went with ps

Actually, Microsoft said they are no longer going to pay for exclusive content. Which is why cod went to Sony this time around and not xbox
