Texas or California?

Texas

458

California

When taking into account the populous, their economies are essentially equal. (Texas is slightly better.) It's time to settle the debate, which of these states are better? I'm a hard vote for Texas.

Texas has a better economy, no state Taxes, low unemployment rates. Only people who live in Cali would vote for Cali. Oh and we have plenty of fresh water.

    • >tfw California is doing much better in the polls than Texas lol California isn't that bad. It's just that the immigrants that come here from Asia and Mexico tend to live in the areas where there is a much higher population density, and in areas that tend to vote Democratic. Those areas aren't that bad, especially in the Bay Area. When we look more inwards, California is pretty red, but the political apathy that the red counties have definitely keep this state blue. That and it's only in the Valley where the bad stereotypes of California seem to be. You know, the rednecks, the overly zealous Republicans/Conservatives, the uneducated, etc. California isn't doing bad, but it is one of the most expensive states to live in, so comparing Texas to California isn't really that great of a comparison. Btw, California makes almost 13% of the US's food supply alone. That's about as much as the next two leading states combined. If people still want California to secede, the next two states better step up their agriculture game and make up for the missing 13%.

              • I used to live in Cali. Now living in Texas. Texas is a LOT better. Sure, we don't have mountains. Okay, we might not have the best monuments or national parks. But when you factor in everything else, Texas is better overall. Me and my bf went there last summer. California is a dying state. A lot of the stores and restaurants that I enjoyed as a little girl were closed. Housing is a lot cheaper here. My aunt lives in a half-a-million dollar home that's only two bedrooms and one story. Here, you can probably get a 5 bedroom two-story for half that price, according to my dad. Gas is a lot cheaper here. Nuff said. Texas is a lot cleaner. California is just musty and dirty and last time we went there my bf got sick and his eyes were tearing up and it was so bad. Texas has better education, imo, although I could be wrong. Texas has DQ. And I'd rather be a cowgirl than a valley girl :)

Texas is the only state aloud to secede freely and has enough oil to support America for decades. I think it'd be a obvious answer...... Especially since they don't have Whataburger.....

Lmfao, I'm from California and the people who think its economy is better need to seriously come and live here.
But I'd still prefer to live here any day over Texas.
• California: Stable economy Lots of climates(ex: desert, valley, forest, mountains, etc.) Great beaches Lots of diversity(ex: Mexicans, Asians, blacks, etc.) In n out burger Lots of monuments, landmarks, and national parks. If you're rep, you can go up north to be by more reps, and if youre dem, you can go south to be by more. Lake Tahoe, nuff said. Texas: Good economy Low gas prices Good community for reps(if you are one) Good weather(most of the time) Easy access to firearms(if you're into that) Lots of freedom and country space Bunch of Six Flags Some beaches I suppose. I would pick Cali, but by a close margin.
