i don't really have a problem with people using snipers, i use them reguralry depending on the map or if i'm playing as a hunter (stillpiercer works pretty great for me) but i agree that the mida issue should be adressed. the only time i win a 1 on 1 engagement against it is when i use red death or if i land the first shot. it's becoming year 2's thorn, severely overused.
