My understanding from a misc. post from the forum admin was that if you want something to stay at the top of the list you need to upvote it and it gets flagged as trending. They said commenting will NOT keep it at the top, especially when new topics land every few minutes (or faster). :)

I would if I could. I was skimming the forums about 2 months back and happened upon a thread that had 'bumps' in it. In it was the post stating upvoting is the 'new bump'. (paraphrasing...lol)
