I understand how networking issues could be what's behind hit detection and weapon modification problems but I don't see how that would affect loot. Can you break down how it would or possibly could affect RNG?

Edited by Rufnek2014: 1/8/2016 9:26:31 PMIt is possible that parameters set as trigger points could potentially experience anomalies based on loss & subsequent auto fill or lack of fill (by the networking code) when said 'drop' occurs. This would result in an erroneous return of bad or potentially null code. Bad=incorrect result. Null=no result. It's hard to say exactly what is occurring behind the scenes but imagine this.... You use a 3oC or finish a PVP match and the connection is less than optimal. When the decision to award you the 'prize' is done you experience a behind the scenes hiccup. Suddenly: Scenario a) The code awarding the Prize is lost completely. Scenario b) The code gets confused and the Prize is mixed up with another player (they get the exotic from their 3oC when they should have actually got none or maybe they get 2 prize items from the match..you get none, when it should have been 1 and 1) Scenario c) Prize is given to you as it should have been. Further to this, I'm ready to bet that there could be a possible complication in prizes awarded based on BUGS in the actual network code, rather than just lack of adequate code to adjust for drops. On top of this is the weird statements about how Bungie confirmed you need to 'return to orbit' to save your game or more accurately, how you need to return to orbit to retrieve 'lost' engrams that don't appear when fighting PvE bosses or fall through the floor making retrieval impossible. And definitely DO NOT lose power to your system before returning to orbit from RAID's, etc. Now add ANOTHER layer of complication where if you get returned to Orbit due to a connection drop, you will likely LOSE any engrams that you did not pick up in the statement above (where you couldn't see them and didn't even know they were there). Now I could be completely off base on the above, but there is way too many requirements needed to accurately save engrams that you can or cannot retrieve. This indicates that the game is unable to retain or store said items in the code if there is a 'drop' or missed 'save point' (e.g. Save Point=going to orbit by your control and not lag drop). EDIT 1&2: Clarity

The RNG has always been 'off'. The Gjhally is a perfect example. We all have friends whom have had 1 on each on character, 3 in the vault and have dismantled 3. Then friends who never got 1 until Xur sold it. How was it that it dropped so often for certain people and not at all for others...? You wrote 'triggered', and we'll something triggered it for certain people...? It could be compared to lottery tickets. What is the likelyhood that the same 6 people could walk in the same store 6 days in a row and all buy 6 tickets and only 3 winning every time...somethings hinky.
