I don't know about copy, but could just be that all the major teams are seeing the need to get to closed cockpits and get the wheels covered. The Redbull looks more ready for Le Mans than F1.

The X1 was purely theoretical, designed by the greatest aerodynamicist in Formula 1 history. It was conceptualized to show what the ultimate car could look like: covered wheels, ground effect, hybrid technology.

Yeah, I get it's origin. It just reminds me more of a LMS chassis at first glance. The front wing is so deep compared to the current FI cars.

The X1 had no intention on being a Le Mans racer, I was theoretical superior to an F1 racer not to mention the designer Adrian newey along with Sebastian vettel.
