Only 3% of Playstation players have Touch of Malice
Took a look at the trophy stats for The Taken King today (Taken King has its own separate trophy list under Destiny) and spotted two interesting stats:
5.8% of TTK players have beaten Kings Fall
3.0% of TTK players have finished the "Old Hunger" quest for ToM
My Old Hunger trophy includes a screenshot of me accepting my ToM so the trophy 100% represents getting the weapon on at least one of your characters.
I guess fewer people have Touch of Malice, or have raided in general, than you might think.

I just got my touch of malice yesterday and have 46 of 50 shards, when I checked the trophy for hunger pangs I think its at 4.1 percent, which seems extremely low when I'm raiding with my clan who all seem to have touch of malice or the emblem indicating they got the quest done and the weapon. I wonder how accurate the number is for the rarity of the trophies and what it looks at entirely.

Maybe the numbers would be higher if people would allow 290s in their raid. I beat my first kings fall at 293 light no ToM and we had almost no trouble.

That number includes everyone that subscribes to gamefly and rented Destiny for a week or so.

I wonder how many people make up the 5.8%? Must be quite a few because it seems most everyone I know in game has done it.

This stat includes anybody to of stuck the disc into the playstation. 6% of people haven't event completed the very first mission!!!

The low percentage will be due to the people that only plan to raid once or twice and have no use for a weapon that is solely useful on the death singers and Oryx. Also the hadium flakes grind is real, my second and third are ready to collect apart from the flakes and I'm really not about to run around the dreadnaught for hours for something i would infuse straight away

25 RepliesDid you chek only playstation? Or Xbox as well? Because im sure your numbers are screwed if you didnt check both. In either situation, there are over 1 mil logged accounts onto destiny, with that said, then 300,000 have touch of malice on play station alone (not even including Xbox players) Thats a lot, regardless of how many total players there are, and im willing to bet most of your friends have beaten the raid, and have touch of malice

3 RepliesI've done the raid multiple times first without touch of malice. You can do the raid easily without the touch of malice. I must add though [spoiler]ToM absolutely destroys Oryx and his Daughters[/spoiler] I feel like when the hard raid comes I'll be looking for other players who also have the ToM. If you have a fireteam of 6 all rocking the ToM this raid will be a walk in the park.
