What do we know of the furtive pygmy? It's mentioned in the opening scene of ds1 as being found with nito, gwynn and the witch of izalith but isn't included in the lords who rode up against the endless Dragons.
The Furtive Pygmy, instead of revolting, cultivated humanity. He split his Lord Soul and gave it to his progeny, creating humans. Later on, we learn that in Oolacile township, people tried to get more in touch with the Dark, advised by Kaathe. These people 'upturned the grave of primeval man, and incited his ornery wrath'. Meaning, they dug up the grave of the one who had started the human race, the Furtive Pygmy himself. They tortured him, and ended up breaking his precious pendant, sending him into a rage, his humanity going wild. He created the Abyss, or at least brought it to the plane of mortals. He is Manus, Father of the Abyss. What's more is that his legacy continued. After he was killed, the fragments of his soul gathered power, and became the Queens in Dark Souls 2, each seeking power, seeking to rectify what had been done to Manus long ago.

So does that mean that each humanity we find in game is a piece of the pygmy?
-
It is not a piece of the Pygmy, but rather a piece of the Dark Soul, the Lord Soul that the Pygmy found

That's what I meant but inadequately conveyed. The pygmies lord soul. Interesting. I love ds lore. It has its own atmosphere, feeling. I don't quite understand it all yet but I'm loving the discovery. Thanks man. Keep up the good work.
and praise the sun \^/
