Donald Trump wants to violate the free trade agreement and tax companies that outsource. IOW, he wants to make America a more desirable place for companies to produce goods.

Edited by Britton: 10/6/2015 10:29:52 PMThat's probably the first actually good thing I've heard about him. But his tax plan will send us careening into more debt by reducing federal income to a place we can't even cut to reach. Bernie Sanders also wants to stop these bad trade deals, and all his other stances are built on working with his opponents and supporters alike, toward the common good of the people. Which is why he has my vote.

Edited by Tiber of Astora: 10/6/2015 10:45:16 PMBernie is a socialist. I'm not terribly pro-redistribution, so he's not getting my vote. Trump wants to cut taxes for the middle and lower class so that they have more money to invest and buy. Essentially allowing more money to reach businesses. All the while, he plans to increase taxes for the rich.

"Bernie Sanders is a socialist " isn't an argument. You're not addressing his stances at all. It's not about literally taking money from rich people and handing it out, ita about shifting the focus back to thinga that benefit the most people, like education. Also, trumps plan reduces taxes for the rich, he does talk about closing loopholes, but he lack specifics in that department. Reducing taxes doesn't put more money in my pocket when the costs of things like healthcare, education, and all my other bills keep increasing. If you want to give the people more money to spend make it more affordable to live by reducing the costs of things like healthcare and education.

Privatization is what I believe is the answer.

Privatization hasn't been the answer for 40 years. Look where we are now.

We can already look at our healthcare and see that when it comes to certain things it isnt, and even more importantly, it only works where it should when we prohibit market domination by massive entities working alone or with each other, protect the workers and consumers, and ensure our policies don't shoot ourselves in the foot economically. Capitalism can be great if we focus on making it work for everyone instead of those at the top, but it can be a nightmare if we do the opposite, which is what is happening.

As far as methodology goes, trump and sanders tax plans are about equally "redistributionist."
