First of all you get to choose 2 emotes for free. Everything else you have to buy.. I dont understand how thats not fair? Your choosing to buy something with your own money to look and feel different then everyone else... Your not forced to buy it. If they do start selling guns and armors in the near future then that will be the stupidest thing and destiny will be broken

Is this truly hard to understand for some people? Bungie is potentially switching from a pseudo-subscription based style of supporting their content development to a micro transaction based style of supporting their content. Bungie will continuously develop new content/missions which will be supported by revenue generated by the Tess store. This means much less getting "locked out" of content for those too cheap to buy expansions, those who want more dances/cosmetics can get them, and those who want to support Bungie (like me) can willingly spend a bit on their cosmetic stuff. Yes, larger expansions that take a long time to develop will still require purchases, but potentially lots of little content drops will still be free for players. I think now that Destiny has established itself, micro transactions on cosmetics is a great idea. I imagine weapons will come eventually, and I really don't support that, but for now I think this is great.

Emote cost 5 silver, bungie gives everyone 8 silver... You buy 1 emote and have 3 silver left over....so close to another emote! Gotta buy more silver so I don't waste my free silver... Damn spent 5$ on 9 silver.... Got my second emote.... But 4 silver left..... What to do....

According to the reports that I've seen Bungie is going to give us enough silver to acquire a couple of the emotes. I plan on taking the freebies and not buying anything. Maybe that is the best plan. On the same note, Borderlands had a system for buying skins. This did not effect in game play and was totally optional. As long as they stick to this I am ok with their plan. The minute they start offering high end weapons or armor I'll be done.

5 RepliesIts not the amount of money or even the accumulative profits going straight up bungie's collective ass. It's that they dont know when to stop and are always greedy. That said, they do have activision breathing down their throats but enough is enough. This is not big but symbolises where bungie's line may be drawn if there is one at all.

So you can complain about something you don't like, make accusations call names etc.....But if people want to defend the new system coming into Destiny, we are "under Bungie's mind control" which then somehow simultaneously invalidates our opinions while validating yours? You know what this is right? This is you putting your fingers in your ears and going "nyanyanyanya I can't hear you". If you are gonna leave, take care hope all goes well for you. I on the other hand will stick around and see where this new system goes, rather than jump ship before we are even out of the dock.

You feel swindled; perhaps post the number of hours of game time you put in for the $125 give or take investment. I'm no fan of micro transactions, but as long as it stays cosmetic and doesn't become a pay-to-win model, I can't understand the outrage. Slippery slope is generally fallacy, not fact.

What did this happen to do with tess? 2nd HoW expansion was great in terms of forever 29ers like myself. Also everything in y1 is mostly irrelevant. That why they branded it y2. I'd rather have a game I can grow with instead of buying a new one every year.

Just commenting on the first part, they are giving us starter silver for free 1st week, details not confirmed. I mean its 100% optional, and it will not affect gameplay.
