You're in no way forced to buy emotes. As long as it stays aesthetics it's fine with me. No reason to complain. Non at all really since you will get some free silver to try some stuff out.

I think it's because Bungie is putting out the idea that they are going to charge money for this. If it starts with something as small as Emotes it could escalate into needing silver to buy guns/armor etc.

Doubt the sell actuall loot. I hope maybe weapon skins and such.
