Hold on there! Don't jump to conclusions! The Books of Sorrow are not lies: hear me out here.
You are mistaking bias as lies! Think about this: the Books of Sorrow follow Oryx's perspective. They follow his life exclusively, even though it does frequently involve the other sisters. That said, everything written in the Books is what is true to Oryx.
Now on to your graffiti. Savathun has a bias of her own: this graffiti is obviously hers. Therefore, we can only assume that she sees these books as full of lies: probably because the Books only follow Oryx's perspective, and don't give full credit to his sisters.
In conclusion, these books aren't lies: this passage is the result of conflicting biases.

This is probs the right answer tbh but it stil leaves lots of questions. I don't think Savanathun would be petty enough to graffiti the message purely out of personal differences. There is a motive behind everything she does, which leads me to believe that there is something significant in what she is saying.

Her motive could be to just insight doubt in the. readers: it looks like she succeeded.

The book of sorrows is pretty much the hive equivalent of the bible, with Oryx being god. So what you're saying sounds right.
