What a strange concept bungie.. I mean, how does a sword even consume or use ammo?? I don't see a slot to shove that crap in there.. useless I say

I think some subclasses need a buff for the sword. Warlock and Hunter subclasses could really use this, I think. This should have been one of the new perks for Arcstrider's useless Way of the Current. I'm thinking along the lines of "Melee kills grant one Heavy ammo when a Sword is equipped."

It's not ammo its energy confined into the blade of the sword from the shard of energy
-
3 RepliesGame would be so broken if they didn't need ammo
-
I'd assume the hilt is powered by the heavy ammo blocks, and the Elemental Stone on said hilt fuels the blade, which cannot be any form of material we have as it retracts and extends when fuelled and when it's not, and the fact that it can hold its form when not swung or when it comes in contact with an enemy, so to summarize... It's like a lightsaber
-
Lightsaber needs batteries. So think of it as batteries and not ammo. Lol.
-
1 ReplyIt uses energy.......that's the ammo.........
-
My only problem is it's a physical blade with (in my case) Void energy emanating from it. If the charges were how many void damage swings I had and the rest were the same kinetic strikes but with the blade aesthetic I'd be fine with it. Also it's a minor thing so I really couldn't give a toss.

Edited by WHlTE KNIGHT: 9/18/2015 11:02:28 AMYou can smack people with the hilt when you have no heavy. Although it's a 2 hit kill then. I hated doing for the sword quest but then after getting hate mail for killing with it, you enjoy it especially if you tbag after.
-
Its energy based. If you are out of ammo it loses the blade and is just the hilt.

1 ReplyEdited by Dredgen*Mary: 9/18/2015 6:13:06 AMI assumed its a charge not ammo... and ghost calculates how many swings you git befor the blade disipates. They work like all swords do in this universe. You just couldnt see the amount of swings before.

You obviously have never played halo

Been around a long time...bungie..halo...

2 RepliesUpgrade to 56 swings and wear ruin wings. Problem solved.
-
I carry 50-60 swings
-
2 RepliesThe crucible would be non-stop sword and nobody wants that.
-
1 ReplyYou still do damage, what I wish is you do less damage, good enough to kill weak mibs. But, when you have ammo the sword will glow, as it does now, and so will the crystal. It will have an energized look and that could explain the power in your swing.
-
So how would you suggest it works? nothing needed? so everyone just runs around swording the crap out of everything?
-
4 RepliesEnergy swords consumed ammo. These are just refillable
-
It balances it out. If someone was able to swing infinitely many powered attacks no one would use anything else.
-
Swords have 50 swings when their nodes are filled. You can wreck mobs using a third of those swings.
-
Op is on playstation. Op makes sense now
-
10 RepliesIt's charges to keep us from using the sword endlessly. Once it's upgraded, you get 50 swings. That's plenty to feel like you can always use it if you need to.
-
Its for balance
-
Imagine crucible and court of oryx of you had an unlimited heavy weapon. That's just stupid
-
Think of it like a energy sword.
-
It's for balance. If you could use a heavy with infinite ammo, the world would implode on itself perpetually. Besides, the scabbard perk lets you have plenty of ammo.
