Well, I don't think this was serious. However, I think he's smart enough to know that saying that is going to "break the Internet," and with that may possibly encourage a youth interest in politics, as he said repeatedly "it's all about the kids." Someone like Kanye doesn't just say something like that without purpose, regardless of how outlandish his comments have been in the past, he's always been aware of where he was and what he was saying, and have made such comments purposefully.

Well they get weighed against each other. The means must validate the ends as much as the ends validate the means. It goes both ways.
