Artists evolve. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was absolutely incredible. Easily one of the best rap albums ever made. Yes, The College Dropout was also a great album, and it does a great job at being a debut album, there was no way Kanye could have released an album like Yeezus as his debut album and be what he is today, however I think Yeezus was his best. He didn't contour to culture norms and made a rough sounding personal confession, pure emotion, outlook on society, and story all in a 40 minute album. If that's not art, I don't know what art is.

  • I've never been a fan of his since collage drop out. Everything he's done has just been okay.

  • So your opinion disqualifies his other work from deserving respect?

  • Music is subjective. I don't like it and I don't have to like it.

  • Respecting something =/= liking something I don't particularly like metal but I respect the art of it.
