Really, skolas is not too difficult. I wish it had a more challenging mode with guaranteed elemental primary drops or something like that. Looks like you let yourself get caught up in the negativity and became part of it yourself.

You shouldn't just be able to walk up to any challenge and grind it out simply because you have acquired the best weapons. You need to know how to use them. If you had spent the first 30 minutes of that 7.75 hours watching a YouTube video of somebody doing it, then spent 15 minutes discussing a strategy with your team, you'd have beaten it. I don't support your stance that it should be made easier to cater for people who can't do it first time without any preparation. I hope you're joking about complaining as I think you'd be (rightly) laughed at.

Good guns wont beat bosses for you. Skolas is a test of your ability and teamwork. If you cant beat him when properly geared and levelled (on the subject of gear, what the hell are you doing using Black Hammer? You are 10x better off with a 365 Found Verdict) then either your ability or teamwork is not up to snuff.

I would have quit two hours in. I have never taken longer than 1.5 hours to beat lv35, even with people that haven't beat it before. 50 minutes personal fastest completion. I don't think you and your fire team is ready for the activity. 1. Blast him 2. kill all enemies 3. blast him again 4. pass poison 5. kills enemies 6. blast Skolas 7. Dismantal mines 8. Replete steps 4-7 9. Finish Skolas off

I'm there with you. Me and 2 friends (who haven't done Skolas before) spent 4 hours but it got too late to continue (2am) so I ended up leaving. My friend was going to get another to join to finish the job and she got booted to orbit. Why are there no checkpoints? I cannot understand the reasoning behind it. Scared of people sharing Skolas checkpoints? What about raids? It's the same thing - "anyone have a Crota hard CP?" It just promotes unhealthy gaming where people try and fail for hours staring at a screen. Shame on you Bungie. I have done Skolas before in around 2 hours but you have to have a team who know what they're doing - how are newbies supposed to do it without having all day and a billion synths to waste? Just add checkpoints.

2 Replies7 hours?!? There HAD to be a huge flaw in your gameplan or an incredibly weak link in your fireteam. Just hide right, when the adds rush you and jump onto the platform, do a full rotation and you should be good.

1 ReplyIt took me 5 hours when Bungie add light switch and burn was taken away. Now, me and my friends won't do PoE 35 cause who want to be up all night trying for not so good rewards but it was mostly the feeling of the completing something that was the reward.

1 ReplyI have cleared skolas 36 times on all burns / modifiers. If you still want to beat him I will get you through it. I have helped many 1st timers through it. (Ps4). My last run took 45 minutes for all 6 rounds... Send friend request to pacificdune.
