Let us do some math here... 10x = 9.9999999999999..... 10x = 9.9999999999999..... -1x = 0.9999999999999..... 9x = 9 X = 1 So we can safely say that 9.99 repeating is equal to 10. Knowing this, 0.99 repeating is equal to 1. So in this instance, 99 is really 100.
