That shouldn't prevent him from going super saiyan, right? Otherwise Gohan or Trunks couldn't.

I just wish the whole thing wasn't so convoluted. But I guess that's what happens when you adapt a manga into a T.V. show then dub it and ship it over seas to America for 20+ years.
