This happened to me with some exotic gear. Easier to re-ascend but it is still upsetting that this happens. I'm not really sure what caused it. I think it may have happened when I switched items into my vault using the companion app. Can you confirm or deny that you used the companion app to move your item into the vault in between learning about the lost ascension?

I can confirm that these were items that I used the companion app to send back and forth (android, latest version of app). However, I had used the companion app successfully a few times after they were ascended. I do wonder, though, the companion app saw them as ascended or not prior to moving them. Food for thought... That said, I also did some hopping back and forth between characters and the different banks (tower and reef). I do not know for certain if the last time I saw them in the ascended state was after or before the last time I used the app to store them; only that I have used a mix of the app and the original method of moving gear around.

So when I look at the weapon here on Bungie.net it still has the gold outline but when I inspect it, it has the old damage and shows that it still needs an exotic shard to ascend. I'm hoping this means that somehow or sometime if Bungie fixes this error it will revert back to its ascended state.... Maybe??? I can hope.

Also, I noticed that on the app or web site, the weapon attk is way off (showing below 300 for weapons I've either ascended our levelled to the max possible w/o ascending. Makes me think that if you use the app to move something and it thinks differently about the rank of your gun/armor, it will trump the actual game starts and replace your actual game gun/armor with the website version.

Chances aren't high if only two of us are reporting this issue. My guess of the people that have it, few know where to report it, and fewer, yet, of those people even notice it.
