1 ReplyI've been waiting for FFVII to impress me, it looks good so far. FF lost me at 6 and I never got back on the bandwagon. I was a huge fan of the earlier games, 3, 4 and 5 are my favorites... But 6 and later felt constricted and 7, turned the series into pretty backgrounds in a series of closed tube-like levels. I keep buying them anyway (usually used) and I haven't finished one since the remake of 3 on the DS. I have some pretty high hopes for 15. I tried the demo again last week and it felt better, though the combat is still baffling to me. My AI party members seems to be largely suicidal and if you don't disengage at some point, you can end up in endless battles. I fought a pack of those grazing things for 2 game days, as I was constantly interrupted by soldiers during the day and imps/dogs at night. Eventually I ran back to camp and gained like 10 levels. Anyway, I hope 7 ends up being amazing.

And Doing a Remake for a game that will probably add up to a few updated textures and cutscenes...isn't helping. No. This is -blam!-ing retarded. And you people getting excited about dumb shit like this is partly the reason why gaming is actually about 10 years behind where it should be right now.

I was in a party chat with 5 other people, me and one other guy were watching the stream and I started oooohing and ahhhhhing like a little kid, needless to say I got joked by the rest of the party for the rest of the night. 7 RepliesI finished it once, I sure as he'll am not gonna play it again, bloody chocobo breeding to run over water and get all the red materia's. A great game, but with gaming, like women you should never go back. It's never the same and it never works out long-term.

I have all my characters at lvl 99 and trying to fight the ruby weapon and emerald weapon. I'm curious how the game mechanics will work? All the old FF7 fans would be happy with the old style battle system but new fans won't be...and Cloud crossdressing, riding a dolphin, Don Corneo and dancing chocobos? That will be hard to recapture with next gen graphics. Either way I'll be buying this, but I hope we don't have to wait till 2020 or some shit.
