If you like to sit back then defender as you get the bubble to protect yourself and others, but if you like to get in the action, striker. I play striker most of the time as it's more fun. I use the exotic chest armour the armartarian (spelling) which gives you two grenades.
The lightning grenades are the best and the most powerful as they hang around for a long time catching enemies unaware. These are on the striker.

Is it not worth it to run Armamentarium on Defender?

Yes sorry I should have split my sentences up into better paragraphs. The exotic chest is good on either but the lightning grenades are on the striker. The grenades on the defender aren't really as good but you will still get an extra one. Lightning grenades give out I think 4 bursts of lightning, I think one burst every 4 seconds and can kill anything that it touches. I believe that they are the most powerful grenades and they also stick to surfaces too.
