The whole concept of Destiny seems to me to be based off of Christianity. First with the resurrection of the dead to walk in a newness of life (Romans 6:4). Then with the whole concept of wielding light against the forces of darkness (John 1:5, Ephesians 6:12). There's also a sort of high priest in the form of the speaker. That's about all I can think of regarding Destiny.

I agree however the writers also blended other cultural or pagan beliefs. Just look at ToO

Actually, the beginning of the story is actually the beginning for the Exo race. In the original destiny story, each race had a different beginning

How about the entire theory of the traveler giving us knowledge and us destroying ourselves with it. Eden all over again. Sir walen on planet destiny has some amazing lore videos and theories. His vids may still be on YouTube as well
