Giving a girl a tip because you think she's hot, isn't gonna make the chance of you sleeping with her any higher.
I tip based on service, if you provided me awesome service then I will tip you. If you did nothing but talk with your co workers & not attend me then no.
When I was a waitress I didn't demand that people tip me, that's just stupid. I did my job & if the customer wanted to tip me great. Plus tips are split up evenly between those that worked that day, just in case you didn't know.

It varies a lot from place to place, though I'll admit I don't know the tipping format of the stylists.

Yea, each restaurant or food service is different when dealing with tips. As for typing stylists I've never don't it. Even when I had my hair bleached and dyed. They already charge you so much, I don't feel like they need more. That's just by opinion tho.
