Who cares. We'll never get to them in time to see if any shit is actually still alive. Hell, we wouldn't even be able to get there in time to live on it, nor would we live long enough to reach the any of those planets.

You don't have to go faster than light if you have enough energy to maintain a wormhole. Hey, it's physically possible to do. If some early species didn't get destroyed or kill themselves and kept advancing for millions of years, think of how advanced they would be. We've only been around for thousands. Maybe? Not likely though, I will give you that.
