Yes, doing crota on normal will still allow you to do it on hard but not vice versa

Thanks. Yeah, that's what I thought too. But.. I didn't get anything, not even materials. It happened twice with two of my characters. Unless it's possible to get no drops at all?

Not sure what happened there, hope it's not permenant though, good luck!!! Also check your advisors for that character it'll tell you if you've done the checkpoints

I always do normal first and when I go hard I never receive a deathsinger drop I was under the impression that it's treated like a chest drop

Death singer is a special thing. It's treated as a chest. Once on Hard OR Normal. All other parts can be completed twice if you finish normal first.

And you do not always get Exotics from it, it may usually be Shards.
