At least you won't die from one collapsed lung. It will just re-inflate on it's own but it takes a couple weeks.

Being as how I have had one before, that depends on the extent of the collapse/size of the leak(for the self re inflation), as well as the side of collapse, if your left lung collapses it can be a fatal danger, the escaped air can put pressure on the heart on some cases effectively slowing/stopping it's beating, it's my right lung though so I won't really die, but seeing as how short of breath I am, it's likely gunna result in another 3 day hospital stay with a chest tube

My husband drove to work the first time his left lung collapsed. The second time he let it re-inflate because he didn't want to spend 5 days in the hospital again with a tube and he made it just fine. In the 5 days in the hospital the first time, the doctor never said anything about it effecting his heart. Why do people try to make things worse than they are? This is why humans are becoming such wimps. They didn't have tubes in the 1700's, what do you think they did back then? I'm not saying you shouldn't go to the hospital, but it's not the end of the world. Attention-seeking post if I've ever seen one.

In a minority of cases, the amount of air in the chest increases markedly when a one-way valve is formed by an area of damaged tissue, leading to a tension pneumothorax. This condition is a medical emergency that can cause steadily worsening oxygen shortage and low blood pressure. Unless reversed by effective treatment, these sequelae can progress and cause death. It's rare, and less attention seeking than truth on a topic I can't ignore as I lay here debating whether to go or not, over exaggerated as the internet requires

You should put quotes when you are quoting something from Wikipedia (or anything). A tension pneumothorax will cause your trachea to cock to the side which, yes, is a medical emergency but slightly different than a standard lung collapse and also rare. Since you're so "educated" on the subject, I am sure you would have gone to the hospital by now if it was a tension pneumothorax. So like I said earlier, you aren't going to die and it can re-inflate on its own. Exaggerating is for people who are boring and wussy.

Lol someone take the internet too serious, quotes ruin the fun for offtopic forum try hards like you =) made the post cuz I woke to the pain that I know well, and realistically with the pain and shortness of breath I likely should go to a dr. Ultimately though it's true I said -blam!- it cuz I'm lazy, yolo bro if I lay just right it don't hurt till I gotta work later lmao
i love you, internet nonsense helps the world go round
