The joke being that you can't get flawless raider from soloing. It has to be done with a team of 6.

Nope, not at all. The requirement is: complete a raid without any of your fireteam members dying. If the fireteam only consists of one player and does not die, it counts as achieving flawless raider. The same applies if it consisted of 2-6 players.
