My Nova Bombs have always sucked in Vanguard Roc, especially against yellow bars. So little fun that I switched to my Sun Singer.

It could be subclass settings leftover from PvP..,but I definitely noticed a huge diff w/ 'annihilate'. Seems to have much less aoe now

As someone with the with song Black Hole Sun running in the back of my mind I generally stick with the base Nova Bomb and increased blast radius. Awhile back a buddy suggested changing to the tracking shards but those didn't seem to help when dealing with yellow bars. Even though I just love the Void Walker class I generally avoid it in PvE Level 28+ activities. They don't perform like Alpha Damage Mages at higher difficulties. If I am going to take a hit on my tank and mobility then the Sun Singer is a better alternative. Works great in Patrol or Crucible.

Typically shatter+bloom+annhilate will clear a room...PvP and PvE Even with an entire fireteam in a titan bubble.

So I jumped in some Vanguard Roc with that set up, donning the Black Hat and Bad Ju-Ju. Spammed some suppers. Made it rain some orbs. It works although the black hole sun will be missed.
