I try to help animals out and some people that I know but I've seen too many people take acts of kindness for granted. You give them a inch and they want a foot. Best example I got is when I worked at a gas station. A guy didn't have enough money for some food he had and a drink so I covered it. Next day he comes in expecting the same. The day before when I did pay for it I had customers that were behind him mad that I didn't let them get "free" stuff even though I paid for it.

  • I know how that is. I used to dd for a couple "friends" and slowly it turned into me driving them every night at 1 in the morning then having to stay up 2 or 3 hours to drive them back. Eventually I just told them that I needed some recompense to which they got super offended and we never spoke again.

  • Been there myself with friends with very similar situation. Main reason I still don't have friends, I don't trust people's intentions anymore or not like I used to
